From Rachel’s Perspective
Jacob took me to a pretty nice place for dinner, then to a virtual reality arcade where we took turns playing games. The date could have ended there and been very nice, but we weren’t ready to say goodbye yet.
We drove up to a park in Orem where we walked and held hands, and Jacob quacked at the ducks, which made me laugh. We talked for a while and hugged several times. But I started to worry. Was Jacob trying to kiss me, but I kept going for a hug too quickly?
“Jacob,” I said soooo smoothly, “I’m really nervous, but I want you to kiss me.” He stopped walking and turned toward me with a very serious expression. He leaned in and gave me a small, gentle kiss. As Jacob described it later, the sun set over the mountain and fireworks went off.
